Official: We're In A Recession

I went to Magnolia tonight to satisfy my sweet tooth. I kind of hate the fact that I'm addicted to the Magnolia that opened in my neighborhood for a variety of reasons. I hate the calories. And I hate joining the masses in the dessert that really stopped being cool when Carrie Bradshaw started eating them.

Tonight, I just had a craving and picked up a couple. But I swear, the cupcakes are smaller. They look like mini-muffins now.

Or maybe I'm just getting bigger.

Nope, you aren't getting bigger. The cupcakes, everywhere, are definitely getting smaller. I speak from experience.

The portions of cupcakes, muffins, and a lot of other food items have expanded a lot in the past few decades. Maybe they will shrink back to normal during the recession and people will be less fat in America.

What I said was that it was hilarious that we both posted about Magnolia at the same time! :o)

I was going to say "how sad" but libhom has a point. American portions have always been somewhat ridiculous. Perhaps this is just a market correction.

I only like the top of the cupcakes (ditto muffin top). I hate having to eat the 'stem' end too because it would be a waste to throw it out.
